At the end of the fourth quarter in 2010, Singapore was voted as ‘Best Country in Which to Run a Business’ which comes as no big surprise to the key players in the industry, particularly because the country has always been topping the Doing Business report’s rankings for the past five years. According to the 2011 annual report produced by World Bank, Singapore is indeed the reigning country best to conduct business in. Hence, it’s no wonder that company incorporation specialists like BizCorp are receiving a deluge of enquiries from both outside and within Singapore.
Out of a grand total of one hundred and eighty three countries studied, the Asian country’s style of business operation was judged most competent. Other criteria include how easy it is to start a business in Singapore as well as get credit for a start-up. The government’s pro-business policy certainly affects positively to a certain extent.
In terms of ranking, Singapore ranked number one and is followed by Hong Kong and New Zealand. United Kingdom and the United States of America complete the list of the top five countries best to do business in. Of the one hundred and thirty eight countries on the list, Kazakhstan showed the most improvement over the past year whereas Georgia displayed the biggest consistent movement over the past five years.
